Chene Anchor was designed and built by creator Jim Chene, whose innovative vision reshaped what an anchor could be. Jim developed a revolutionary shank design that rotates 90 degrees, allowing the flukes to dig in at the optimal 45-degree angle. This engineering breakthrough results in four times the holding power of traditional anchors—while using 70% less anchor line. With an ideal line-to-depth ratio of just 2:1, Chene Anchors make anchoring safer, easier, and more efficient in a wide range of conditions.
As demand grew within the boating community, Jim relocated operations from Argentine, Michigan to Fenton, Michigan, where he partnered with Epic Machine Inc. Together, they launched a hands-on Co-op training program in collaboration with area career technical schools and local area high schools. This initiative allows students to gain real-world experience in welding and manufacturing by building Chene Anchors themselves.
